Package Details

The valley of Langtang is an excellent short walk that accumulates a lot of punches in a short time. The trail climbs through the Langtang valley from only 1470 m in Syabrubesi to 3870 m in Kyanjin Gompa, following the Langtang Khola River through lush forests and bamboo groves to a collection of pastures, glaciers, alpine peaks along thundering waterfalls, and under stunning snow-capped mountains on the border with Tibet. Although you can reach the Langtang Valley in a day's drive from Kathmandu, this region remains unknown to most hikers. Dominated by the Himalayas of Langtang, this trekking in the valley is relatively short.

Although Langtang Valley Trek is very close to Kathmandu, the Langtang region is as wild as any Tibetan Mountainous region with a peaceful rural landscape. Syabrubesi will be the starting point of the trek. From there, we will follow the Langtang River to the east until we reach Kyanjin Gompa (3,880) and spend the night in one of the hotels. Climbing a gentle slope, we cross spectacular mountains through local villages inhabited by Tibetans, Tamang and Sherpa. Then we will find the deciduous forest of rhododendrons and oaks. Once we reach the valley of Langtang, we will find the waved prayer flags, painted in bright colours and the walls of Mani painted with different signs and symbol, where yak shepherds will welcome you on the territory of this high mountain people. Langtang Lirung, Langshisha, Ganja the Peaks are the center of attraction that we can see during the trekking trip in the Langtang Valley.

The Langtang Valley Trek is subject to a constantly changing climate and offers hikers an exceptional diversity of landscapes and cultures. Tamang occupies the area of the Langtang Valley Expedition whose religious practices, their languages and their unique clothing are worth it. According to a legend, a lama following a fleeing yak have discovered the valley Langtang, hence the name -Lang (Tibetan name for YAK), Tang (more commonly "Dhang" who wants to follow). A variety of attractions including Buddhist monasteries, a cheese factory and a numerous yak makes this trek exciting. There are good opportunities for moderate climbing excursions here, allowing a few extra days to explore the vast glacier system of the magnificent Langtang Valley. On the way, we will see spectacular scenery with an impressive landscape that will make this walk an unforgettable memory.
